Biography
Susan Lindsey’s rich oils on linen combine creative design, unusual perspective and elegant patterns of light. An accomplished painter of a wide variety of subjects, her still life work frequently includes flowers and colorful fruits and vegetables, sometimes combined with lush fabric to create an atmosphere of abundance. A play of light and shadow leads the viewer through her paintings, directing attention to beautiful subtleties often overlooked.

Growing up in rural western New York, Susan began oil painting under the atelier method at age 12. She continued her studies at Rochester Institute of Technology where she earned a degree in design. This formal background, combined with a love of architecture and masterful use of color, influences Susan’s stunning compositions.

Susan has been painting professionally since 1979 and is a signature member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. Her work has been featured in national publications and shown in many juried national exhibitions including the Oil Painters of America National Exhibition and Recent Realism. Her paintings are included in private collections throughout the United States and abroad.

An Alaska resident since 1988, Susan is represented in Alaska by Artique, Ltd.
