Artful Violins
Alaskan artists have transformed already beautiful violins into music for the eyes, for an unprecedented fundraising event benefitting the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra.
The violins, currently on display at Artique, will be sold at a Gala Auction in February. They can be pre-purchased at the gallery with a donation check of $10,000 or more. For more information, visit www.artfulviolins.org.

Personal Statement
Kim Marcucci is a mixed media abstract colorist. Her vivacious non-objective paintings appeal to the senses, emotions and intellect of the viewer through vibrant color and dramatic design. She pours, sprays, splatters, lifts, brushes, scraps, builds, and erodes her work with handmade papers, wax, inks, acrylics, oil pastels, and watercolors to create layers of surface history.
Kim is an award-winning artist who has exhibited both locally and national. She most recently won Best of Non-Objective Paintings from the National Oil and Acrylic Painters of America, Third place in the Watercolor Magic’s Watermedia Showcase Annual Exhibition in the Abstraction category and a finalist in the Artist’s Magazine 21 Annual Art Competition in the Experimental Category.
Kim’s paintings have been included in numerous regional and national exhibitions sponsored by the International Society of Experimental Artists, National Watercolor Society, Alaska Watercolor Society, and the National Oil and Acrylic Painters of America. She lives in Anchorage, Alaska and is represented there by Artique Gallery, as well as Jane Hamilton Gallery in Tucson, and Acacia Gallery in Palm Springs.
