Biography
Linnea Ploch Ratcliff has been interested in art since an early age which led to the pursuit of her art career with studies at the University of Alabama and University of Utah. She arrived in Alaska in 1977, and in addition to her own lifelong passion for creating “abstract art,” she is noted for her many years as a corporate art consultant.
Linnea’s favorite media is acrylic paint on canvas, often enhanced with oil pastels and graphite. Her abstracts present an infinite variety of interpretation wih a palette of unique colors and shapes most noted for their emotional warmth and universal appeal. The wrapped sides of the canvases are an integral part of the painting’s composition, which draws the viewer to a pleasant and distinctive presentation at any angle. Linnea has an innate ability to paint on an intuitive level, ideally rendering pieces for commercial or residential interiors.
Linnea works in her studio at Sand Lake in Anchorage, and she can be seen outside when sun and mild temperatures prevail.
