Born in Quincy, Illinois, Sharon Hults moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1966. Inspired by the magnificent splendor of the Rocky Mountains, Sharon has made extensive hiking, camping and photography trips from Colorado to Alaska which has provided a wealth of material for her paintings. She captures the essence of the land, expressing her exceptional talent in traditional watercolor landscapes. Mere colored water under the hands of Hults becomes her unique script of an individual interpretation as only the artist can see or relate on paper. Unique attention to composition, strong contrast and crisp washes are definite trademarks.
Since 1979 Sharon has been teaching watercolor workshops and classes. This has become an important part of Sharon’s career. She feels that the experience of interacting with people to describe her procedures and techniques help her to add clarity to her own paintings.
