ABOUT GICLÉE PRINTS
With the advent of Giclée (zhee-clay) printing, the art of fine art printing has become even more precise. Because no plates or screens are used, the prints have a higher apparent resolution than lithographs and the dynamic color range is greater even than serigraphy.
WHAT ARE REPRODUCTION PRINTS?
A reproduction print is just what it sounds like- a reproduced copy of an original artwork. There are two kinds of reproduction prints which are often sold through Artique: Offset Lithographs, which are the most common form of reproduction print, and Giclée Prints.
WHAT ARE “ORIGINAL” PRINTS?
An original print refers to a print that is handmade by the artist. Rather than making copies of a painting or drawing, a printmaker creates an original artwork in the form of a print.
